those days the lost ones I realize I wasn’t significant as I rambled o’er the magnificence of this vibrant country no . . . I was only a speck a name my burdens were not immense I but thought they were I was living a falsehood; a lie it served me well kept me in turmoil I crested huge peaks of regret walking with my feet submerged in the misery of my guilt I had company those I met had the same look of despair on their faces we sought each other out of course misery loves company they say yes, ‘tis true I stumbled along my journey was treacherous I was quite mad much of the time when I revisit those days I shake my head wondering . . . how in the hell I survived ©March 28, 2014 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ In America, anyone can become president. "how the hell I survived" Jerry, I'm sure that line strikes a cord with a whole lotta people. Good one! Lori |

I've got to the stage that I'm wondering why I'm surviving now but, yes, I guess we all did wild things when we were young. |

Hah! Yes we have, Helen, and I parlayed my wild things into adulthood. I hear you on why I'm surviving now also. Why, indeed. ~*~ In America, anyone can become president. That's the problem. ~*~ |
