Fair to middlin' of nowhere

It is the end of November
and still no chill or snow.
We have had enough
frost to cost us our blossoms.
Down your neck the cold wind
blows clear to your toes.
Leaves scattered on the ground
without a care from branches bare.
Christmas has arrived full force,
the stores have all decorated their doors.
The T.V. is playing all the season’s specials
while the marshmallow is melting in the cocoa.
We are going through the motions of winter
while we wait for that magical date
when the first snow will blow.

Ahhh . . . Blowing snow is a much waited on experience for many. Don't think we will get any of that white stuff down heah in tha swamp. It has happened though, so you never know.

I love this upbeat poem, sha.

We've had our first snow. Hope it's the last. Maybe a bit for Christmas.
My wife's family used to have skating parties on their pond each year. That was fun... Hay bails piled around a campfire with some to sit on while the others just cut the wind.
Fresh Hot Apple Cider and cinnamon sticks... Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows.
Great fun for Penguins, young and old

Thanks Jerry! I'm not looking forward to the snow this year because my "snow man" will be so sick from his treatments that he won't be up to it. When the roads were bad, he would drive me to work. So we'll just have to see how it goes with me and the weather this year. ~L

What a wonderful memory Rex! If my poem brought that to mind then I am indeed honored.  ~L
