Sometimes love has to be fierce
and fight the good fight of insistence.
Sometimes love must be fearless
and face tempers and tirades.
Sometimes love will be helpless
to ease distress and dysfunction.
Sometimes love will be painful
as it tenderly tends to wounds.
Sometimes love will surprise you
as it continues to grow stronger.
Sometimes love can get lonely
as it waits for one to wake up.
