I've stood in the center of storms standing rock solid and unmoving during the whiplash of tremendous thunderstorms and a twister or two I refused to flinch somehow knowing there is a place for me away from the fleshpots I've stood beside a long, lonesome mountainous road around me my threadbare coat unable to keep out the cold I refuse to shudder from winter's onslaught many uncomfortable places I've been refusing to bend refusing to allow me to be consumed somewhere in the back of my mind in those bad days I knew not to show fear or the tiniest movement it would give up my whole ©September 9, 2016 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Much to digest for those who can relate. Everyone's take is unique, even those who have traveled similar roads. A "showing of fear" will get you challenged. There's a confidence required to make it on the streets and I know you know this intimately JerryPat. After all, you're here and you write about it well. Touch, but don't look |

I think that you still have that same backbone letting you face your final chapters with mental vigor and honesty. If you didn't give clues to your age in your writing, your words would never give you away. So much of what you say are timeless truths. ~L |
