Just A Slice Of The Pie

...telling me that you're leaving me

I see the earth
quake beneath your feet
granules of soil spit up at you
as you take your leave of me

I feel the quaking
as the ground splits around you
watching you slide silently downward
brings me such joy

you left me then, consumed
but now, your hand reaches out
reaching out to me from your grave
to free you from death's grasp

...then I awake
feeling the walls withdraw
my excited breath becoming calm
and you stir beside me

I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather...not like the passengers screaming in the back of his car.

Make your mind up. Watching him/her/it slip downward brings such joy. Then you wake up and feel calm as he/her/it stirs beside you?
