If you thought yourself, in dire need of a quiet getaway, then read our holiday jargon, here's what it has to say: Enjoy yourself, up in these hills of the peaceful Brecon Beacons, but after a week of one in fours your engines may need re-cons. We have a little rain up here, so bring your soft-ground tester; better still, so you stay dry, invest in a sou'wester! We only have a foot of rain every other day; the winds are rather strong, in fact they blow most folk away! Your cottage roof has only blown off fourteen times this year, so best that you're a sailor and bring wet-weather gear. The table in your garden is held by six-inch nails; please include your hardhat in case this safeguard fails. It's been at least a year or so since we had snow here in June, but pack your Artic anorak, it's due again real soon. All in all, we welcome you, we hope your stay's sublime, and if you can survive the stay, come back, any time. |

I'm an old boy scout, Jerry. Prepared for anything. 'With our nets and gear, we're faring; on the wild and wind-full ocean. It's there on the deep that we harvest our bread....and we dream about the shoals of herring.' Yeah, yer up on deck, yer a fisherman....an' yer learnin' aw' about sea farin'...that's yer education....scraps of navigation...as we follow the shoals of herring. |
