Summer Passing Two blue herons dance with the smoke and mist across a cloud-swept and pensive grey late August sky, here on this wind-flickering forest edge where lichens slowly spread, like a lovely velveteen disease, along a broken stone wall and path to nowhere through the woodland moss and ferns spreading all around. All speak in silence of grand-inevitable transience, change, and loss to come, as Summer tarries for one last bright-delicious lingering moment of the ‘now,’ like a half full glass of wine forgotten. Is that distant, wistful sigh just a hint of Autumn chill or the ghost of Summer passing by? --- b. e. adams ('here' in the quicksilver 'now') |

A lovely day in the woodland. Of what value would it be if we were to allow it to slip by us unnoticed. You've a keen eye Bruce and you translate perfectly. Loving Linny Jean is poetry. |

Very nice poem as you always know what to say and you always know how to say it in a nice way. I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather...not like the passengers screaming in the back of his car. |
