Summer skirts the horizon
leaving a ripple of waves
palms bend and sway
beneath leafy shadows
diffusing the heat
shifting sands
simmer to a warm topaz
blending into cool gray sighs.

Drifting wood
widdles away
worn and smooth
sea shells fade to pastel shades
natures beauty liesĀ
adrift
like soft cotton
caressing the shapeless wind.

Calm passes in the silent stillness
a whispered hush
hangs in the breeze
beneath a crescent moon rising
twilight settles
low in the tangerine sky.

Moved
by the endless turning of tides
and the string of memories
left behind.

Ida, it is always a pleasure to hear from you, thanks so much.  Stay cool, this California weather we are having is a tad too hot, to say nothing of my electric bill.

Soothing, and a joy to read. I'll finish my last glass of wine, and read again.

Four lovely poems for the price of one. Each as a 'single' or arranged as an 'LP', they all sound great.
