![]() Now I Have MS> I used to write poetry. Now it's hard to hold a pencil. Now I have MS! I was a good typist, now my hands don't function. Now I have MS! I used to talk non-stop. Now I can't find the words. Now I have MS! I used to have a Type A personality and be full of energy. Now I am exhausted. Now I have MS! I used to wake feeling rested and ready to go. Now I hardly sleep. Now I have MS! People think I don't listen or pay attention. I do, I just don't remember. Now I have MS! I used to be able to control my emotions. Now know emotions control me. Now I have MS! I used to make plans with friends. Now I never know how I'll feel from one day to the next. Now I have MS! When I used to get sick, I knew what it was. Now I'm never sure. Now I have MS! I used to be so coordinated. Then in 2001 and 2002, I kept falling! I ended up in the hospital. I saw a Neurologist. I was 50 years old. Now I have MS! I am still a loving and caring 'me' and yes, I have MS but MS doesn't have me!! Marti, I can relate to this, my son has been recently diagnosed with PD but I see those symptoms you described as similar to my son's. Some days I ask myself where in my rearing him did I fail? But I admire your looking it in the face, with this kind of brave front, MS will never have you. |

Friend Marti It makes me sad to hear about your problem..yet I am a typical man--I try to fix things.. Of course I cannot"fix" your problem, but perhaps ease the pain a little by a suggestion. There is a way to use the keyboard by "speech recognition". This may help you fight your dis ease in an electronic way? If you want to read about it, click here.. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/use-the-computer-without-the-mouse-or-keyboard-alternative-input-devices "... hope, can be given to one only by other human beings". ~~Jerry, jjote, James and Ice, no sorrow as I am doing okay. I have a wonderful hubby of 47 years who is also my caregiver. Every morning that I am able to get out of bed and walk is a great day! Except for the MS, my health is good and for the most part, life is good!! Thank you for your kind words and concern! I wrote this to help educate the public about MS. Most people have no idea what MS is and it's symptoms. Ice, just to let you know, I am a Mac user and my iPad is equipped with a microphone that I use most of the time!
