If I could sail the sea of dreams, where poetry in the dawn light gleams
I’d know each ship that passed me by, then sailed away in clouded sky
And words would drift like whispered days, so many poems so many ways
Would ride soft winds to who knows where, without a sigh, without a care
Through misted nights as sun hazed eyes rest peacefully in shaded skies
And if I slowly awake as morning is born, to poetry all my life is sworn
My quill writes with life of its own a poem and its words are never alone
And drifting on my dreams sea again, I see poetry In the sun and rain.

Walking our world of green and gold, I see that there is so much to hold
And oh so many poems to write before I reach out to switch off the light
Some days I write of whisper worlds that gather softly round my soul
And other days of joy and pain, of life that makes you once more whole,
Though sometimes in the dead of night, I have the gift of second sight
That gathers me up on silver wings and takes me where my angel sings
And I reach out for her song as I arrive, it makes me so glad to be alive
As through life’s shade its secrets fade, as it’s sweet song is overlaid.

Somewhere laced between a blossom and a subtly gentle breeze
There are many different fragrances, like doors waiting for keys
To unlock the dream each fragrance needs, to beckon it within
To permeate the living heart and soul, to take away life’s sin,
My ship that sailed the sea of dreams brought me back home again
And every poem within me served to soothe and to explain
That in each heart and in each soul, the rhymes of life grow strong
And serve you in oh so many ways as they carry you along…
