Through the Cracks I saw the homeless guy playing Piano like a man possessed. Passionate, deft fingers laying His art down, perfectly expressed. What pushed this man to play so well? How proud a life had he once held? Forth from shadow, looking like hell, To play for us as if compelled. It's all around you, day by day, Those of us who fall through the cracks. While all around will turn away, We disappear, never come back. Something 'bout our society... By God, my friends, we have so failed Humanity, in name of "Me!" As our own brothers are derailed. All seems broken from where I stand, This dark abyss, back to the wall. With a scream none will understand, Cause it's not for "me," but for us all. Michael Anderson 1/22/2016 |

Not sure if YouTube links are allowed here. Please remove, Ron, if not. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=JCguq3hTC2M Piano was set out by this restaurant for public use. |

That was an awesome thing to see and hear Michael! I think the girl liked him alot too! Good poem too! It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them. |

Excelent, Michael...one of your best. I enjoyed reading, and thinking about your poem. "Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance." |
