Wine Sno-Cones |

Wine Sno-cones~ An old friend dies.. faces of the past wander in like prodigal sons and daughters, we finally own up to the gray door of departure we always knew was there, but foolishly kept hidden like the secret-garden entrance. Tears, smiles, recollections from times when skies were forgiving, concerts and wine sno-cones, Summer clung to us, but innocence shook from our shoulders in naive shrugs of urgency. We scattered as tufts from the cotton-wood trees, softly drifting to our own little corners, now reuniting over drinks toasting our friend, because that's what he would have wanted. This gentle spirit, the sweetest of us all, who loved Bad-Company, Oh..how I 'Feel Like Makin' Love'... © Jan~ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LHgQ4-5sZI |

I love this: "Summer clung to us, but innocence shook from our shoulders in naïve shrugs of urgency." I never had a wine sno-cone before. But you can bet I will this summer...I know somebody with a sno-cone machine! Great Poem! ~L |

Ahhh . . . My goodness yes to Bad Company and to the toasts all the way around for the one has slipped into the netherworld. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Thank you Lori, as for the wine sno-cones.. back in the day..I was elected more often than not to smuggle in the wine at concerts, we'd buy sno-cones.. finish off the flavored liquid, then pour the wine over. yep..they're Good rainyJ |

Great poem, J...well done in form and story line.. But, just sing, your friend would have wanted you to sing: "Its all a part of my rock 'n' roll fantasy. Its all part of my rock 'n' roll dream, yeah." Namaste "Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance." Carl Sandburg [This message has been edited by ice (01-12-2016 10:04 PM).] |
