I have said what I have said, I sleep peaceful in my bed. I'm not as gifted to be sure, Not as eloquent and pure. I will leave these hallowed halls, Wish everyone well, one and all. Call me stupid Jerrypat2 but I don't know anything in your poem that says anything about child killers. I do like it though. It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them. |

Jerry. When you state a firm political opinion, as in your last but one post and a previous post, you must be prepared to accept that others will state opinions that are counter to your own. That’s the very foundation of free speech. No one here is making a personal attack on you, at the most their stating the other side of the same coin. But I agree with Ice, such discussion should be confined to the debating forum. The poetry forum is for poetry i.e. if the poem reflects on a highly emotive subject it should be judged on how it stands as a piece of poetry, not on the views it contains, that being said, a statement is just that, a statement and nothing more. Sorry to hear you are leaving, there’s nothing I have read I feel could justify that but I accept your right to do so. Take care. Cari. |
