Thanks for the inspiration for this one, Ticklefingers

for sure
I was born to ramble
and ramble I did
I did not marry well
my bride (first) came to me out of a
bottle of speed
and Timothy Leary’s nightmares
wasn’t looking for land of my dreams
latched onto evil
rode its coattails into the night
still . . .
there was more punishment than crime
and I lost my way
again and again I lost my way
to wind up here
Thibodaux, Louisiana
ship ran aground
I sit here
alone (not lonely)
spilling my guts into this computer
still . . .
I wouldn’t do a damn thing different
(changed my mind, used to say I'd do a lot different)

This made me think of the original "Butterfly Effect" movie... where the guy keeps going back in time to change things in an attempt to end up in a better place, yet when returned to the present his changes have had catastrophic effects on his life.  I think we all are where we are supposed to be, Jer.  There is peace in that realization.  I hope you have a bountiful new year, friend.

Who sez you can't teach an ole dawg new tricks? Like I have said before I marvel at your growth and insight.  You sound like this is the best you have felt inside yourself. ~L

Hey! When you're right, Lori, you're absolutely right. Thank you for all the comments you have given me through the years. You are right up there at the top who has given me pause to think about my life. You have given me so much encouragement and support. You know me inside and out. Thank you for all that . . .

Jerry, you have had the guts to spill it all, Since the time you started here. And it was sometimes raw. But you may never know how many you have helped along the way. The life  you tell about may not fit all. But you lived it and now are sharing and helping others to be able to lift their heads also. You are a better man than you accounted for. Now go on and rejoice for all you have lived, learned and shared that others may also heal.
Best to you,Jo

Ahhh . . . Jo, you almost brought me to tears. I began writing of my life in order to try and shed my demons. I have succeeded for the most part. The demons are mostly gone, but those that are left I am able to control. That, my dear friend, is a godsend. Don't know why I use the god word, I certainly do not believe there is such a creature in this universe. Eh .. . maybe there is, but I've never been able to be in touch with him. Oh! Yes, I have had people contact me and say my poetry has given them the wherewithal to combat whatever demons they had. That is a humbling thing to me. Thank you Jo, for stopping by today, you know I always appreciate it.

Jerry it is true and now you have heard from others not just fellow writers.  Rejoice and an extra glass of wine to you. JO

this is a little sad but sometimes life is sad isn't it  Jerrypat2? You are strong to do all that and still feel gutsy! But why be alone? There must be girls where you are that like you when you tell them things like this. I like you and your poems but I already am with my Billy. Otherwise I 'd be all alone too.

It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them.

I almost forgot to ask you about why you have his name here. TF is kinda mean and says some pretty mean things to me. Sorry.

I gave Ticklefingers name here because he has been very nice to me since he came to PiP.

Thank you for liking me, I guess I'm alone because at the closing of my life I feel contented to be that way.

Thank you for supporting me . . .
