Flowered Boots~ Off to Grandma's For a three month, or forever-stay, Mama's lost On the far side of the moon, Daddy's gone away.. Little girl dreams fit just fine In a small suitcase, Fears are tucked in coat-pocket Along with cookie-crumbs. Beautiful red haired princess Waits in flowered boots, Wistful at her tender age, What will tomorrow bring... 'Will Mama ever act like Mama used to'.. 'Will Santa know where to find me'.. Tiny piece of precious heart Bows and curls in self-protection. Morning grows older As she waits.. In flowered boots. © Jan~ |

Awww . . . This is just beautiful, your words do justice to the wonderful picture you have presented to us. Children are at the mercy of cold, calculating adults far, far too many times. I, myself, fall into that category unfortunately. This picture. This poem. Perfect match, rainy. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Thats awful sad that poor little girl. It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them. |

Excellent picture, and poem. Hope this wasn't a personal experience, but an inspriration from the photograph.. enjoyed "Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance." |

The words bounce right off her sweet little face. You can read her easily saying those things in her mind. Love this photo and thew words so smartly fitting. Jo |

A fine moving poem that connects sadly to the present day. There are so many broken homes from failed relationships and marriages. Children are not an unwanted product of a dead love affair; they deserve much better and need both a Mother and a Father for stability and a loving home. Thank you for sharing. Cari. |
