The phone rings my slumber depressed Eyes adjust as I fumble to respond A beautiful sound eclipses my ear The voice of sweet applause I hear We talk, converse, laugh and sigh Thru-out the darkness of evenings midnight Minds filled with desire, anticipation Promise of life, appreciation, admiration A phone call is all, one scared to make But when brave, breathing becomes easy, life begins to smile, adoration moves from fingertips to being |
