I tell the truth Devoid of comment Without approval I cry no pity Judgement is yours ~ Auschwitz Children running Hurry, hurry Zyclone B is waiting Smoke spirals ~ Stalingrad winter The last performance Of the frozen clowns Stiffening arms Accusing an uncaring sky ~ Age Dressed in parchment Tread the painful footsteps On the final lap In the stagger to oblivion ~ I am waiting Here in a drawer, a handbag Am I dead, inanimate? Or reborn by your fingertip You decide |

Love poetry that I am confounded by, that makes me think deeply...:-) It is like a play where the opening scene shows someone putting an old Webley in a drawer. It stays on the mind of the audience until the final act..when it's drawn out from its hiding place. Your last stanza is the final act, someone reaches into the drawer, and takes the pistol out of the handbag..their finger on the trigger, ready to commit the next atrosity. "Or reborn by your fingertip" I be way off in my analysis, but I like this poem. "Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance." |

OK, Imessed up, didn't really look at the title. My other guess was wrong, "Camera" explains the story line. Still like the poem. "Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance." |

"I tell the truth" Perhaps, but indifference seems to pervade through to the end. Sliced or diced, its still a good read. Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me! |

Loved the last stanza, I can hear the silent accusation of my own camera, waiting to be used, perhaps it's about what we could do together. Enjoyed the read. Thanks Pete [This message has been edited by Pete_W (12-20-2015 10:53 AM).] |
