concealed inside the dark of night poets everywhere begin to compose using pens; paintbrushes of imagination or fingers poised about the keyboard about to write another one for the internet rhyming verses or free style or one of a number of different forms poets pour out their hearts their dreams for some they are hunting for light for their souls are barren and dark so they share themselves hoping against hope that by sharing their words will reach out touch someone lost just as they are and together through the written word they guide each other from their darkness ©February 18, 2014 /Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. ~*~ |

Once, many years ago when writing one of my pieces, I recall suddenly losing my mood for it. Not long after that I went to a poetry forum and tapped out a few notes to a friend on the the PM system that site had. I told him of my plight and he asked me to send him a few lines that described the basic theme. In just a short time, he had wrote enough lines that I could see my way back and the piece was completed. I don't think I ever would have done it myself. He died much too soon and I really miss him. He left a wealth of poetry that still surfaces from time to time. Kind of a long story to include in your reply box Jerry, but that corroborative spirit is special among writers. I felt you related that quite well. Regards from Bluesy ...just bein' Bluesy |

"lost just as they are and together through the written word they guide each other from their darkness" I really like this part Jerry. We do seem to connect. Keep them coming! Lori ![]() |

Thanks Lori. Some poets are profound, and some tend to lose their luster as age claims them. Hopefully, maybe, in my case I might be on the road back. ~*~ Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. ~*~ |

fine 'write!' ... the 'dark wolves' are always there however; and, unfortunately, one can only hold them at bay so long with the 'power of the pen' ... |

I agree Jerry Pat,I am not a poet but find when answering some one else I often find I had written something that the person enjoyed and that is the kick I get out of it. I started writing to Pen Pals many years ago about age eleven. AS a teenager. I also wrote to service men to joke and cheer them up. So my interest was in letter writing. I continued that until the 1980's when others started into other ways to write. I miss that as few mail letters now.Best to you, P.S. I love the night and usually worked the late shifts. There is something about night people that I admire. jo perry |

I couldn't agree more, Jo. I used to love the back and forth with emails, but somehow that has mostly been replaced with quick messages like on Facebook. Poetry has also factored in to the detriment of email correspondence. Thank you for your comments and your continued support. ~*~ Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. ~*~ |
