Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Heartsleeve writes messages
on her cuff in blood
pleading while bleeding
for attention.
Like a siren of the Sirenum scopuli
or a train wreck,
it’s hard to look away.
Her words are enchanting
lyrics to a song,
luring ever closer
to her truth
and warning.

Behold
the prism
that I am.
Choose your color
in my vision.
Do not be distracted by rainbows
I have thrown.
My light is refracted.
It is not my own.

Her sleeve is made of tattoos,
the heart so fresh it still bleeds,
nothing more she wears on her paper isles.
The lines tell a story
she’s imprisoned to tell.
God only knows her fate
He holds her light
that radiates her every hue
and somehow they see her
in their darkness.
That light speaks
to all that see their light.
Namaste.

Ahhh . . . Heartsleeve is back with us and in dire need for special attention.

"The lines tell a story
she’s imprisoned to tell."

Yes. Yes and yes indeed. It is easy to imagine her on those rocky cliffs with the icy spray of the ocean in her face, trying to formulate her story to tell . . .

Lori:
"Her sleeve is made of tattoos,
the heart so fresh it still bleeds,
nothing more she wears on her paper isles."

This verse makes the picture of your poem so real, or alive.

Loved the write, very deep.
