A Corner of the Heart

Here, where shadows
walk the lonely
midnight streets
with memories
and dreams
dancing in the
Winter moonlight,
Time seems
frozen in the
moment as
one remembers
all the brightest
hopes and promises
of youth, and love,
and Spring.
Perhaps they
are living still
in this darkened
nether world
just  around
some corner
of the heart.

Thought proving poetry, Bruce. Far too many of us live . . .
quote:
in this darkened
nether world

as you poem so rightly pointed out.

Yes, youth is so fleeting and so full of promise.  I just love your poetry.  Your title is so pretty and says so much....  Thank you dreampoet for all that you bring to the poets table.

Thank you, "Bluesy!"

I've had a seriously love/hate relationship with 'poetry' for decades ...

with me, it's worse than smokers tryin' to quit ...

maybe I can make it stick this time ?!
