Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Holidays are here
but the weather is unseasonably warm.
It feels like October in December
and carols seem somehow out of place.
My usual blues abating as I’m decorating;
hanging stocking at the fireplace.
With every tinkle of every Christmas bell
and twinkle of a light upon the tree,
each ornament I hang brings a happy memory.
Every garland and wreath that’s hung invigorates me.
Out come all my favorite candles
and their holly day holders
to add that special glow.
Now everything is ready,
all I need is snow.

Yup.
December is very dull without snow..we have had a few dustings, but now we need a covering to add to the drama of the season..

Enjoyed reading your poem.

Thanks Ice!
A lot of people are snow haters. Not me! Now ice (not you) is another matter, it is beautiful until you have to drive on it and it takes down the power lines. ~L

Ooh...Danger-Danger!

Careful what you wish for Miss Lori!

It sounds like you're right in the spirit of things alright. We've leaned our own 'things' out a bit over the years, but its always fun to see the shops on the drag looking sharp and of course the kids around are getting excited.

Not going to see much snow around here though. The upper Midwest where we came from before gravity pulled us down here to Louisiana has left the closets full of clothing, coats, snowsuits and insulated footwear that folks down here never heard of.

No point in having a rummage sale.

May 88 inches fall your way!

She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast".

My husband says the Almanac is predicting lots of snow this year....well a wet winter...we could get ice...booo...hisss!  I have 4 wheel drive so snow is good to go.  Looking at a record breaking warm spell this week in the 70's. Sigh.  ~L
