  The Greatest Mysteries

The pale blue November sky
fades into a chill long-shadow
sunset and pensive twilight
while a clear-lantern moon,
of exquisite indifference,
hangs the far east horizon
of these ‘endless’ hills.
When such a bleak wintry
  night comes calling,
who am I to explain the
world as another day
dissolves in Time?
The best that we can
truly reflect, in any
  last analysis,
on the ways and greatest
mysteries of our lives,
loves, and consciousness
is that we really don’t
    know.

Your poetry always begins with awareness and humility for you surrounds Mr. Adams. A most commendable attitude and practice, if I may.

Then comes the "coup de grâce" that I look forward to and am never disappointed:"The best that we can truly reflect, in any
last analysis, on the ways and greatest mysteries of our lives, loves, and consciousness is that we really don’t know".

Bravo!

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

As always ... thanks, Jo.

The 'word paintings' kinda' write themselves ... often I feel like I'm only the vessel ...
that I am somehow 'channeling' over 1500 years of (Scottish) Celtic "ancestral
consciousness." Perhaps I get a lil' help these days from Ms. "Kacy" as well ?!

Sometimes I think it's just enough to be there, explaining is sometimes superfluous.
Another thought provoking write. Enjoyed.
Thanks
Pete

Secondhandpoet - Perhaps our best strength as a species is the imagination we unleash when we don't know. Enjoyed Bruce. Namyh
