in my middle and old age my heart found the way in the midst of a grand old swamp where . . . finally I put down roots and, if my inner self moves me to I wander alone amid the cypress trees such beauty and all for me to see on the bank of Bayou Lafourche I sit and watch the water's meandering current move steadily on maybe see an old bull gator's eyes scoping me just above the water rest of him is hidden I'm the trespasser so happy I found this place and it invited me to stay [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (11-29-2015 11:09 AM).] |

You are a lucky man that your wandering toes decided to root themselves in the swamp. You have been very prolific there. Your children have found you there. You have eased your heart and soul there. I believe it gives you strength as well as peace my friend. ~L |

"Roots" Mr. Bolton, make you a lucky man even if you planned it all that way. Bayous, Cypress trees and alligators speaks of the more temperate places one might call home. So far, all I hear about is snow, ice and the cold which produces them. You write very well of your environs much like Mr. Adams. Reading yourself and he is always a pleasure. Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me! |

It is good to know you feel you have found your roots. I feel fine in Florida but also long for the sweet village life of Guilford Conn. Check it out and you will understand. But I am happy here, especially as the winds and snow begin to show in the North.Best to you. Jo |

Ye, I can see why you would be homesick about Guilford, Conn, Jo. What a wonderful, rustic (overused word,) but . . . It works for me after I strolled through your hometown. Thank you for reading and commenting on my poem. |

I don't get it. A whiff and a whisker under two weeks since writing this he bails out. She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

It was under duress, Ticklefingers. I missed being here. ~ If they give you lined paper, write sideways. ~ |
