Beautiful Stranger Beautiful stranger I knew you for a moment out of time and place, by candle and moon light, when the world stood still. What does love become, that can endure on one side only to outlive eternity, but magnanimous despair. --- b. e. adams (11/12/2015) |

Love becomes a deep seated memory, which gives the promise that one day another one may come along. As I said before, age holds no bars to love. Loving another is not disrespect but a honor to the first one that we can go on because of what we leaned and shared before. JMO, Jo |

Love your paradigm (viewpoint on 'Love'), Jo! ... not sure that's the 'reality' of it though (beyond the 'poetry' and the dream) ... What I still would like to truly 'believe in' is what I once wrote: leaps of faith (what a 'poet' must 'believe') Despite all the sham, cynicism, and broken dreams of the past, I must simply trust that all cynics become ‘believers,’ when, by the magic of fate, destiny, happenstance or accidental miracles, they find someone or something to ‘believe in.’ Such a man and a women together in new love ... become fully 'real' and limitless. --- b. e. adams (in defense of love, Romanticism, and 'taking chances') |

Both your offerings here are deeply poignant, dear Bruce. Love is precious to itself and if we didn't cling to it, it would never transform into despair. I mean, it is, after all, a permanent gift, just as you say "out of time and space/place". Margherita |

I can read a wistful longing in this poem and yes, the world can stand still when you meet your beautiful stranger, but despair not that it would be a one-sided love...who knows it will outlive eternity. |
