Fair to middlin' of nowhere

Trees along the river are silhouetted
against the dawn pink horizon.
Mist hangs low in the surrounding fields,
giving the impression of snow.
Headlights stream down the highway.
Tail lights disappear over the hill.
The winter is creeping southward
bringing along its bitter cold.

I hope it stays up there for a while, we don't need it down here in the deep south.

It is not real cold yet here either, but the temp dropped quite a bit-enough to remind a person it won't be long now. I'm not looking forward to taking the dog out in the morning with snow on the ground and the wind blowing 30mph. ~L

My choice is let him out unsupervised and maybe he goes across the street to the neighbors or I stand outside with him and freeze my keester! ~L

Remembering those day as I sit here in Florida and no longer have to shovel snow. D Enjoyed.
