Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2015-11-03 11:25 AM

If my day moved any slower
the clock would go backwards
and rigor mortis would set in.
My mind would turn to mush
and my skull would cave in.
I lost count of the holes
in the ceiling tile countless times
but my pencils all are sharp.
My desk has been straightened out
more than a time or two.
And all the times
I’ve spent twiddling my thumbs
is just between me and you.
There is only so much filing,
powdering your nose
and busy work one can do,
before people start to talk
and next thing you know
they are profiling.
Not all days are slow,
but this one is killing me.
Wish I had a back log
or a little left over from yesterday
to keep me busy
for at least an hour or so.
But the clock is going backwards
and I’m starting to get stiff.
It must be the rigor mortis
beginning to set in.
My thoughts are getting soft
and running all together.
My skull feels very thin.
It isn’t even noon yet.
Some days I just can’t win.

This makes me feel lucky Miss Lori.

                   Clockwise never did.

88's past noon.

She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast".

Oh boy, I hate those kinds of days too, then you'll probably walk in tomorrow and have more work than you can handle.

Hey guys!
I just killed some time going back in the archives and tracking down Eusta B. Mae and the Driftwood series. I highly recommend it! ~L

Thanks JP2! Wish I would have numbered them better at the time. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I started. ~L

When did I become JP2? That's a new one. Maybe you've always called me that and I just never noticed.

JP4 is high octane jet fuel.

                    ...JP2 on the other hand.

duhknow, I may have used it once before... in reference  to you...or seen it somewhere before...is it offensive? Not meant to be, I'm just keeping the typing simple. ~L

I didn't know this wasn't a party line JerryPat.

I'll click the receiver next time.
