September's Song - Autumn's Winds
(from Faces of Love).

Cautiously
I let the winds of October
push September's Song
in the direction
of past pleasures:
of memories.

You and I
flowed into Autumn
divided.

There was you –
Oh, there was you –

and now,
there was me:
and the first chill
of prevailing winds
hurried us
in the swirl
of directionless leaves,
toward different times
of the day.

And we ended up
as we began,
entangled
in arms and legs,
passionately singing
September's Song,
while Autumn's Winds
nudged us into separate eddies.

And you and I flew away
remembering September

forever . . .

Love the fact that you introduced different winds to control yours' and her's to put you two together, and to sweep both of you away each remembering that loveliness of what you'd shared.

You never cease to amaze me. You always find another way to frame and color "Netflix and chill". You never, well, hardly ever, use even the same words we associate with it. Or if you do you put them in a different context like "passionately singing". Your poems don't so much get a person to thinking as they do make them feel. ~L
