We speak of peace
In many ways;
peace is the absence
of war,
rest in peace,
is the absence of life.
Inner peace
is the absence
of distraction.
The Peace of God
Is the absence
of fear…

Yet an absence of peace
is part and parcel of our planet
and all things upon it.
Natural disasters
effecting millions,
or just a single soul,
happen every day.
In the wilderness
life is sustained
swallowed whole
or ripped from bones.

Peace is not an entitlement at birth.
Humanity cannot escape
the caustic emotions
of anger, frustration and fear.
Peace is a treasure sought and shared.
It can be elusive as a rainbow.
Or bountiful as the rising and setting of the sun,
the twinkling of stars and the glowing moon,
a placid lake or steamy swamp.
It is found in gardens and forests,
valleys and mountaintops.

Peace can be sought
in the holding of a hand
or in the give and take of a hug.
It can be gifted in gentle words of kindness.
Peace is forever powerful and abundant.
and if sought, will be found.
Peace is a promise.

Ahhh . . . You are waxing eloquently this a.m. Lori. Peace. So many way to find peace if you really want to find it, but, as you alluded to, there are many obstacles in our way to impede our search. Blessed is the person who has peace within, making the search for other kinds of peace immaterial.

Enjoyed this...I pray for the Peace of Jerusaleum...they say it will happen when Jesus returns as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords....james
