For Mom

Time goes slow when we are young
Too fast in later years.

My Mother shared so much with me
And sometimes even tears.

She taught me how to sew my clothes
And shorten those too long.

She showed me steps of tap dancing
And her voice, so beautiful in song.

And so in May, a last day spent
A passage rite for me

I helped take in her too large clothes
So comfortable she could be.

Reba, Freda and Mom were there
Whenever we had a need

To talk, they listened, these sisters strong,
Whether or not they agreed.

My Mom was the glue that heldus all
In holidays we shared.

I'll be missing her everyday
Hoping she knew how much we cared.

It is sad when they go, but in many cases, yours included, there are wonderful memories . . .

First time I've seen that avatar of you, my friend - love it!

Based on this wonderful piece of yours, your mother knew/knows, Maureen, without a doubt. You blessed her soul and have, in return, been blessed too, by being able to share your life with her.

my heart, as usual . . .

Thank you both. It's been a rough couple of days with a few more to go. She was 91 in June...

Lovely memories hang on and the present become all the more memorable too as we journey on.
