Watching you grow...smiling

This poem is for my son.He makes me smile everyday.

You woke up wanting to be held.
Then it was off in a race for morning cartoons.
Coffee for me, some sugar infused cereal for you.
one with cream the other milk.
You slurrped, I sipped.
You decided you were done,
when whats was left of your cereal was soggy
and playing in the milk was no longer fun.
Toys scattered upon the livingroom floor,
Watching you play
and your imagination sore.

Still sipping my coffee,
I sat in my big comfy chair.
You asked me to cuddle, so I scooted over
always happy to share.
All though the air was warm,
you wanted my blanket.
It was because we were cuddling,
so I did as you asked.
Just because it made you smile and laugh.
Then you took a short nap.

Now you are in the tub,
to wash off the ichy left overs
from your hair cut.
Then its off to decide on a snack with daddy,
giving him the answer that you want everything,
probably because that's what you get when you ask a boy whos three what he wants to eat.
I'm watching and laughing.
You my sweet child are so silly.

They grow up so fast, so it's nice to enjoy every moment while you can..I can imagine your joy in watching him grow up
