It was a typical day.
You came in for the interview.
Nothing special to think of...
at that moment.
Not knowing there were going to be more.

Weeks pass.

A brown dress.
Simple.
Lunch on the patio.
With her father.
Our first words were spoken.
A half hour of them.
Laughter erupted.

Weeks pass.

We meet again.
There is laughter once more.
New moments start to become evident.
The time line becomes a blur now.
Phone numbers exchanged hands and it began.

Days pass.

The birthday party was a blast.
Coffee girls, we laughed.
Her father's joke we ran with fast.
Hugs shared.
A seed begins to sprout,
causting pleasent and unexpected feelings
previously unknown about.

Days pass.

Late night phone calls reveal
more of the moments.
Words crash like recking balls
into new areas of thought.
Where could this path lead?
Knowing only it could make
such fragile beingings bleed,
if handled carelessly.

weeks pass.

Suddenly circumstances change.
Personal which is understood.
Slowly the stream of words
trickle to a hault.
The flower once watered daily,
must now struggle through
an unanticipated drought.

Days pass.

Clouds cover the light.
Shadows of doubt try to sneak up.
The flower sits,
not willing to hide.
Wondering if that bright sun,
filled with warmth,
will once more come out?

Days continue to pass...

Frankly, I was looking for the coffee girls, not sure if you're having coffee with another girl. *lol*

I like the title it invited me in to read and did not disappoint.  I think you did an excellent job of capturing the ebb and flow of how a relationship can start (or not) I thought it was very honest portrayal. ~L
