Snowdrop There she stood, soft blond hair blowing in the gentle breeze Blue eyes reflecting thoughts from horizons over tranquil seas Red lips slightly parted a faint smile just waiting there To catch her eye and linger there, or is it so rude to stare A slender ankle a slight blush now upon my cheek I wonder why she stands alone, flick of hair, so straight, so sleek Would I dare to talk to her, then simply hold her hand The murmurings of the waves etching love stories in the sand Her shadow grows long, tinged crimson from the setting sun Then turn away, a memory erased, long gone days of fun A black sky storm, as seagulls soar, salt spray for my tears I wander home where I recall love’s moments throughout the years And when winter’s blanket falls, do snowdrops bow to you Yellow white and mauve, each crocus formed within my heart so true. |

quote: Wonderful write, exquisitely structured. The snowdrops working their way out of the snow cause a mystical emotion in the observer, in me anyway! Margherita |
