Darkened woods ro'nd stonied tomb in dead of winter's night. Lady Beldam wails to wind in rave, hued stars swell up on sight. Stoic Virgo, Pisces moon n'wane assay'd plea to Beldam, amain. Come luck-struck or doomed late her spell-cast beseeches fate. Grasping candle's silver stem all thoughts turn time to him. Rant to rage, her craved-on sire Virgo spices silence in wail. Power escapes oak widened pyre lending credence to her spell. Prophetic in whispered whim she adds- camphor, fig and orange. Flames aid divination wit' candles blue'n black as ragin' storm. Marjoram, purslane n'heather next heart to pyre in colored specks. Heeding New Moon's station Itchy Virgo love-spells adulation. Salt circle cast, candles 'round sends vow far, from here-&-now. Athame in hand, blood drops t'pyre tondre, torve- blaze 'midst fire. Billows mix archaic verse, as Virgo bleeds to bind, ...then twists the curse. Itchy-witchy Virgo, portentous jades gaze kismet's ball. Twitchy, fits-y Virgo swoon gives pledge unto its call. By dark orb glow, crone beheld! heart kicks up, then slows. The ball demands of elements she adds jasper n'moonstone. As absinthe, heavy on tongue Virgo begs spell's affirmation. Beldam bequeths whispered vow eyes glazed hot-provocation.. Lady Beldam strums harp, n'bades "The one to hold your ever-bold.." (strummin' twangy cords of song) "..has been trice ere years of long" This Norse-aged prophecy forsooth spoken on midnight vow of Virgo croon. Granted last portent hereunto, Beldam spake.."His Virgo be a Cancer moon." "..But a tyrant spell has bound me, |

Okay, I admit that this was hard for me to follow. You are so eloquent with the witches olde style descriptive verses . . . As per usual many times I think this poem can be summarized with the last verse. quote: ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Jerry- Thanx so sweetly fer the "eloquent".. and fer baring with me on length, this spilled out..then spread. lol. You gotts it on the last lines as well. This is about a lil' Virgo witch casting a spell of divination..Olde Norse traditions called on Beldam (powerful ol' crone) & even J.Keats has remarked on "La Belle Dame sans Merci" as soothsayer when prompted, to be granted kismet's portent. Much obliged fer your read of my whimsy-come-true, ty-ty always! ~T "..But a tyrant spell has bound me, And I cannot, cannot go.." ~Emily Bronte 'The Night is Darkening Around Me' |

quote:The things revealed in a divination need be acted upon quickly or may lose merit I have been told. There is much to to be read with magicks, and some of the world's best secrets might lie there, for even if the stars do not seem to align for you, sometimes the moons still do... and that can be a wondrous thing.
