being alone ain’t tha same as being lonely for you see . . . the armor hiding your mind hears the echoing thoughts of thousands, millions of memories like a hungry gull diving for its dinner you merely have to pick which memory will serve as your subtle tea-for-two I usually call upon distasteful memories in order to put a smile and pleasantries to it before I release it back to being a memory slightly altered easier to deal with that way ©May 30, 2015 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

And do memories improve with age, or just become obscured by the mists of time. Enjoyed Michael |

Eh . . . I tend to think time erodes most memories. I have a couple of memories which have hung around from the forties and fifties just as vivid as they were when they happened. These memories are not pleasant memories. Thank you, Michael, for stopping by to read and comment on my poetry. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

I think I have thrown out a lot of "babies with the bathwater" in forgetting "the bad stuff". It is hard, I know, to go back replay those old memories where we dropped the ball...especially when it concerns our children or spouses. If someone has no regrets over how have ever treated anyone then they are either an idiot or an asp*. And you haven't lived if you don't feel bad about how someone has treated you. I'm just delighted to see you are still on a journey of personal growth and happiness.~L |

Oh, my journey will never end until that last breath, Lori, and even then I fully expect to be reborn somewhere in the future. Thank you for your continued support of my poetry and me as an individual. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Thanks James. No I didn't have an awful lot of good memories during my life, but now, near the end, I am having wonderful memories come my way. So! It is balancing out . . . ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |
