[at last my keyboard keys are kicking!] I am stone kicked about on a grassy path, boots stomping unhurriedly find their mark in me, the owner seems lost in thought - but the boots keep kicking me accurately, I drift as in a dream, if stones can dream. The last kick has sent me flying right into some dried-out patch of grass, purple and gloomy in the pale growing dusk. The boots have stopped walking, I feel safe now, assured I won't be kicked again. Journey's end for the boots is a house sitting alone in a corner, like me it must feel anxious that the boots may kick its door, but house and me, stone, are inanimate - we don't feel, and life is mere kicking of boots. |

If you put this dark poem together thinking of your past, you certainly got a handle on it. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Oh, being kicked by someone who doesn't even notice it is just harsh. Coming to expect it as a fact of life is just plain dismal. I only say this because I can relate to them so well... Deep words here. Michael |

"..I feel safe now, assured I won't be kicked again.." ~hate to break it to that stone but I have a penchant for.. *relocating.. cute stones and rocks to my garden, so it might still be hunted- just not for kicking. lol. Great idea to ensconce it away to the house to recoup. be well ![]() ~d "..But a tyrant spell has bound me, And I cannot, cannot go.." ~Emily Bronte 'The Night is Darkening Around Me' |
