A simple flower
from the root down
petals smile up to the sky

yellow with specs of blue
randomly picked
from one proud little boy
with his 'look what I have for you
grandma'

in lieu of the rose
in its manufactured captivity
destined for crystal vase

a simple flower
far surpasses with the
love, unchartered
from one proud little boy

This is just simply beautiful, Emma. And yes, that little flower by far surpasses a cloned and cultivated beautiful rose, that flower is more beautiful because it has that little boy's heart.

A child's love is so precious, grandchildren- more of the same, I'm told.

This is very sweet and the bond shines here!

Delightful, dear EmmaRose. I have also lived this kind of emotion, it is indeed priceless.

Amen.  The unabashed nature of grandchildren is priceless to witness.  Love this.

I could hug that little boy for picking up a flower for grandma. Lovely little piece of poetry, a reminder that simple and real is beautiful
