somewhere between
you are and I am
there is a word connection
a bridge
when I step on this bridge
I find I’m within myself
you are there standing
on the other side
the words, “You are,” and
“I am” unite
then seals itself around us
there will always
be that bridge
two people on either side
so much in love
awaiting for the long-anticipation
day when the bridge can be breached
they will make the transition
from now
into the afterlife . . .

Quite a different side of you we're seeing lately (relative) my friend.  Nice to see you feeling . . . loved.

The difference between "You are" and "I am" can be very extreme, and also very subtle.  What those two simple phrases can represent might shape different images in the readers minds, but the "oneness" at the end brings a very positive image.  A truly lovely piece.

words and placed importance are grandstanded here- nice job Jerry!

also smiling to see this in motion:
"..into the afterlife.."

~INTO vs UNTIL..reaveals a promise far after life has ended, instead of having a stopping point. Awww!

Devina, I am so appreciative of your thoughts about  this poem.

You said, "reaveals a promise far after life has ended, instead of having a stopping point." I absolutely believe this.
