The Price If I have leaned one thing from life, Nothing good comes without a price. Forever, the twist of a knife. Your will to love, the sacrifice. What is it that yet draws us close? Is it not more than primal need? These feelings, bitter and morose, Far outlast pleasures of the deed. When looking back at what you’ve sold, If all in the name of a touch; The only thing you feel is cold To think you needed it that much. If one could only disappear, Could they, perhaps, this cost evade? Not with eternity the tear Cried for a price that’s never paid. Michael Anderson 04/04/2015 |
