Waiting.... There is your reading glass On the table. Half written book kept open. The wind blows and pages turn. I hark and hope you came back to continue the story. Nothing but the winter cold winds blow. The chair is still empty. I sit on it to feel the warmth. Touch the book, a tear drops. I run in to the woods blindly, white and snowy. The scene is same after many years. Writing the same poem after many years. Don't know what all that have changed outside. Here in this room it is all the same to me. I wait for thee without tiredness as night waits for the sun. Today your grandchild holds my hand, my son. I gather him from stumbling, he smiles. Mind races backwards, it was me and you. Near the garden, the muddy slippery soil. I held on to you, clinging and laughing. Is it pain or sadness that is over powering me ? Torn between you and my own piece of flesh. Be there in the noman's land, waiting for me.. Need to help my little one to stand and grow. I am the captain of my ship, cannot desert it now. I will get what I want always ......... |

This is awesome! Very well written and flowed down the page just as it should with cohesion and lead-in to every stanza. Really enjoyed the read. Jimmy |

A moving piece, touching on the stages of transition in life. I often found myself teaching my son some of the things my father had taught me at a much earlier age, and reflecting on how much I wish the two could have known each other. This reminds me of that. Michael |
