The wind has blown away under the sun as mercury rises high for the season. They come out of winter’s hovel shunning hearth and dark, exposing flesh to browning rays. Some ride wheels while they can Others walk with man’s best friend to places not yet green. where bare branches cast shadows but give no shade. That day under a sun celebrated as it rolled across the sky, pulling pink along the horizon, there were smiles. LGR©2/25/15 |

Wish it was that way down here, Lori. It is cold and raining this morning, can't walk man's best friend. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Our temperatures have been up and down like a pogo stick. Yesterday the sun came out and reminded me of warmer, windless days. ~L |

I confess I had to look up the meaning of your title, and I got "seize the day"and thank you for giving me something new to my vocabulary. You have really opened up the reader's eyes to what you are seeing or feeling for this moment of your day in your poem. Lovely |

jjote- Thank you for taking the time to look up Carpe Diem. It is a fairly well known phrase here to anyone familiar with the Marine Corp or has taken Latin. Since we have had spring like warm weather in between snow storms, it has been unusual to see people outside enjoying the weather in February. ~L |
