I'll Bleed - Forever

I cut a piece of wood today
and thought of the tree that died,
just a pine, knotted,
sticky with the resin some pines
bleed – forever,

And I cussed some ugly words
because now I had to clean,
the blade on my saw.

That led to other thoughts –
those of you,
and the ugly things we said
when last we met a year ago,
a lifetime ago,
as I slammed the door behind me
shutting off the four-letter epitaph
you screamed as you wished me dead.

Like the pine. . . I'll bleed -

forever.

Oh Jimmy, I feel the pain.Every time a plant someone gifted me died because I did not take the best care of it. I feel for the plant,the person who chose it for me and myself. Jo

The imagery of the pine bleeding builds up strongly your own bleeding from a severed relationship. Like this piece.
