A Communion of Devotion
12/30/13

I spend all my
days
drowning,
in words

Trying to keep
my
head
above aqua

Treading awe
in a sea
of sentence

Righting wrongful
with, my
penance

Before the beginning
there was,
since

Behind the hark, of
reminisce

The laws of conception
were, frozen
in pause

The just of effect
needs more,
than because

That’s where we, met
in the realm
of ago

When glory didn’t know
it was high
or hello

Back before prior
and previous
met

Deep in the maybe
and promise
of yet

We were the purpose
of nothing
and all

We were the forward
that ended
the stall

We were the
force
tween pushing and
pull

We were the
kiss,
of empty
and full

Being or ceasing,
life
is affair

My dawn is your
smile
and you,
are my prayer

Thank you for finding
and guiding,
me through

The love of my ‘fore
and my ever,
is you

It took me a while to get the rhythm of the rhyme, to get the feel of the poem, to really get into it. But it was oh so nice once I did.
