Northern Star Always looking for the Northern Star highway signs, some dangerous designs on where you are and where you are is exactly where I want to be unveil my eyes to see love in the time of cholera, a splendorous thing always searching the sky for the Northern Star and I wonder just what it looks like where you are Loneliness, loneliness a jump into the deep end and the darkness envelops me seems like every Christmas time this heartache lasts a little longer frozen loveliness the image of every girl I loved emerges again inside me like moon phases but lately the hurt is getting stronger the colors in my heart they don't belong here at the jagged edge of every empty new year and the shape of every fear brought me to the water weep tears for misfortune's daughter in every girl I ever had the fortune to fall for now I know the score my whole life has always been a restless search for the northern star Always looking for the Northern Star drop dead gorgeous glances into caverns of who you are and who you are is who I'm writing this for, you see uncover your eyes to see the unbearable lightness of being, dizzily spinning always searching the sky for the Northern Star and I wander along the sad truths but that's who you are Loveliness, loveliness a stone and the water ripples but there's nobody there feel like these New Years resolutions aren't resolving anything in me wounded tenderness the laughter of every girl I love disappears into the air like a sun swallowed by clouds but lately I just can't see the forest for the trees, my feet unsure down the tracks at the frayed ends of every beginning breaks my back and the shade of midnight black brought me to the end and whatever comes 'round the bend and every girl I ever had the fortune to fall for wish I knew much more about the finer things, a golden compass that points to the northern star Always looking for the Northern Star this seriously stunning afterglow can measure how far and who we are is who we're waiting to be, you see uncover this unbearable dreaming this side of paradise, skin's taut and tonight it's tingling always searching the sky for the Northern Star and I blunder along to the sound of heartbreaks in your car Oh break me down, break me down without a single sound and the eyes speak of incomplete but that's who I am and where you are so close, so far orbiting another star but could you ever look my way yeah could you shine like a sun ray and brighten my day unveil my eyes to see love in the time of cholera, a splendorous thing always searching the sky for the Northern Star and I wonder, yes I wonder just what it looks like from where you are Always looking for the Northern Star highway signs, some dangerous designs on where you are and where you are is exactly where I want to be I just want to see I just want to be with you always searching the sky for the Northern Star and I wander along these sad truths but that's who we are without love and I wonder yes I wonder what it looks like from where you are "Memory's like a train you can see it getting smaller as it pulls away" -Tom Waits [This message has been edited by soul drifter (12-28-2014 12:06 PM).] |
