A Single Heart in Two Places Dazzling stars dance a deep-infinite sky under the spell of a crescent moon rising above the roots of these ‘endless’ hills, painted in sparkling frost and silver moonlight. On this eve of the boundless and great Winter wind rising, here in this lonely, forgotten space, where the candles cry their last tears until dawn, many sorrows come; yet my mind and spirit remain clear and dwell in simple joy with you, though we share a single heart in two places, bound by the self-evident truth of deepest love. To chase or demand more from this fleeting life would be a quest to tether the shadows in a poet’s dream. --- b. e. adams (11/27/2014) Happy 'Thanksgiving' to all the grand poets who walk the fine blue sands of 'PIP-land' by the cyber-sea, and beyond ! A very romantic poem, Bruce! "One heart in two places" - it's great. Maybe it's better to be in one place, but anyway they are together. Happy 'Thanksgiving' to you too! |
