Isn’t this life enough? (beyond the tyranny of ‘more’) Isn’t this life enough … Loving one person beyond all dreams and reason being grateful for all that you do not need nor will ever possess celebrating the uniqueness of each individual and the diversity of all life rejoicing in every dawn and sunset and the simple truth in all things forever wild and free knowing the majesty of mountains, grandeur of the boundless sea, the mystic magic of ancient ruins and forest paths by moonlight … Isn’t this life enough? --- b. e. adams (1/26/2014) |

Ah, one would think it would be enough, Bruce, but something inside us pushes and pulls and shoves us into the center stage of more, more, more . . . And when we get all that more and should be grateful and satisfied, oh no, we keep plunging ahead until near the end of our tragic journey we come to understand that all that we acquired, no matter how many riches we have, we are still lying on the death bed alone facing what comes next just like the pauper across town. ~*~ If they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Both, your poem and Jerry's comment were interesting really, food for thought! When we are in a blue phase we hope we never will have to come back to go through another lifetime of ... learning maybe ...but when in magical moments the real beauty of our existence unveils we can't imagine being deprived of it. ![]() Beautiful thoughts. Your beautiful thoughts are just that, beautiful.I have no answer because you are so correct. In comparison to many others, my life has been an enchanted one. Discarding the many hard times we always seem to bounce back up Thank you for your thoughts,jo |

Love the thought behind this, Bruce. I think some parts of this life are more than enough but the best of life is never enough. Ida |

Beautifully written, Bruce. So often we forget how blessed we are with what is directly in front of us. I appreciate the thoughts and gentle reminders this brought to my mind. Much enjoyed. ![]() Best wishes, /Kit |
