Losing Myself Mini-Rant

nothing new here
no . . .
I'm not the first old man
to question, rant
and otherwise pester the hell
out of everyone
within the hearing of my voice
or the written word thereof
still . . . I shall move on
I hardly have any short term memory left
it goes and comes
mostly goes
I take an ungodly amount of medication
throughout the day
then at bedtime
gotta have my nightly medicinal cocktail
washed down with cheap California burgundy
ahhh . . . gives me uninterrupted sleep
for eight, nine hours
I use a cane when I walk Zoe
I get off balance a lot
I have fallen
never been hurt bad
still I've fallen
scary
hooked up to an oxygen machine
have a little "to-go" canister
they have given me three different
oxygen masks to wear at night
can't do it
no way Jose
what irks me the most
about getting old
I can't seem to organize myself
to get things done
as I used to
blame that short term memory for that

O boy, your a courageous one just splicing
and dicing all over the page here.

I don't want to get any more old than I am
but whats the alternative?

Yeah Emma, I guess I did "confess" to my physical condition. Yep, there isn't an alternative to growing old except to die young. But die we must.

Absolutely Lori, rage indeed is the passion of the moment. I still have the backup if I am strong enough to use it.
