Horizons blending past the day, the same old shades, the same old way Anointed blue and tarnished chrome, like weary angels going home, Likewishes wandering through the rain, or echoes that return in pain To drift and let the night’s touch heal the tiredness that they often feel, To wrap themselves in ancient shades, before forever’s last chime fades Into the emptiness of sleep, so many soothing dreams to keep, So many more to write in rhyme, to hatch maybe another time To correspond with being born, a rendezvous kept with a dawn. The rhymes of life hold no surprise within a weary angel’s eyes So far away, so soft and deep those places where the angels sleep To dream of once more born again, to tread the paths of life’s sweet pain To feel again life’s newborn smile, to wander with it for a while Through every page and every line, experiences they define When sunsets glowed behind each day in their once so familiar way And all the things they miss so much, likehearts that join, and lips that touch And speaking with the voice of night, anticipating morning’s light. Life’s breath is more than joy or pain, so much that we just cant explain How many pages write themselves, no need of reference books on shelves, Just Summer rain to brush your skin, and sleep to keep your dreams wrapped in, And angel wings to brush your face, like wandering through morning lace Into those hush soft whispered halls where from each shelf a memory falls Into the jigsaw life has made from pieces that will never fade, Although some taste obscurity, and never take the time to see That pure and simple things are true, and angels often sit with you… |

Absolutely exquisite write. I enjoyed reading your thoughts so beautifully expressed. I do love Angels and I do hope they will never actually get weary ... Margherita |

That pure and simple things are true, and angels often sit with you… This is my favorite line. I need it for a mantra. Lori |
