Boot+Kitty=Poetry in motion

Deer and Frannie finally retired,
And off to Texas they went,
Where they settled down as Texans,
Crazy and sorta hell-bent.

One day while Deer was shopping,
(With his handbag in his tight fist)
He saw a sale for cowboy boots,
And one pair he couldn’t resist.

So he paid up to don those boots
A complete Texan, now taller in heels.
Frannie would see a new man
When he walked in with sex appeal.

“Do you see anything different about me?”
Deer asked Frannie later that day,
When he paced and primped before her,
Prancing in his homely Deer way.

Frannie shook her head sadly,
“No Deer, everything’s still the same.
“There’s nothing different about you,
“You’re still Deer in every way.”

Deer was quite indignant,
He’d show Frannie what was new,
So he went into the bedroom,
And came out wearing only boots.

“NOW do you see anything different?!”
Demanded Deer in his whiny voice,
“No, Deer,” Frannie responded,
Apparently she had no choice.

“Yesterday you were hanging down,
“Just like you’re hanging down today,
“And you’ll be hanging down tomorrow,
“No, Deer, everything's still the same.”

“AND DO YOU KNOW WHY IT’S HANGING DOWN?!!!”
Deer exclaimed, not admitting the truth,
“It’s hanging down because it’s looking,
“AT MY BRAND NEW COWBOY BOOTS!”

Frannie just looked at Deer,
And shook her head where she sat,
“Then you shoulda bought what you needed,
“Deer. You shoulda bought a HAT!”

Sorry, Deer.  I thought of using Toerag, but I couldn’t work Suthern into it quite as well.

Well lookie here what the cat dragged in! LOL (and it serves you right to be dragged around by a cat after all the kitty-kicking you've done! LOL) You say Deer's moved to Texas?? He needs to un-retire and get back to work eradicating bugs... we'll keep him busy! LOL

Long John, believe it or not I was thinking of you and Toerag the gang that wrote on Thrive a long time ago.I missed some of those nuts and then when you and Mike and Toe were here when I moved to this site I was happy to see you all.
