I remember the days when I could make the world stop spinning obliterate the sun and moon make time standstill as everything was frozen in time I was a mere shadow of myself nobody building worlds where I was rich stopped oceans from flowing because I could I built new worlds to live in yes, I can still recall my vivid seven-year-old mind Whot happened? ©June 29, 2014 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ When politicians give up on liberty, it falls to poets to preserve it. Yep. Life got in the way of innocence . . . A natural progression, or is that digression? Thank you Baby Girl. ~*~ When politicians give up on liberty, it falls to poets to preserve it. Or write its epitaph. ~*~ |

ah to be an innocent 7yr old in a war free country, where one is not starved or in slavery or training to kill or walking miles to safe boarders. We have been very blessed to have had our peaceful imaginations with which to play with. You brought back warm memories of troll dolls and other wonderful things. Still there are too many places in the world where the kids don't get to be children very long. Good write my friend. Lori |

Thank you Lori. About those children of other countries who have a hard life. The government is allowing tens of thousands of them to walk into America where they will be fed, clothed and given medical help. Thank goodness the government is a kind and benevolent daddy and momma to them. ~*~ When politicians give up on liberty, it falls to poets to preserve it. Or write its epitaph. ~*~ |

True Jerry! Thanks for the reminder and a pox on all those who are so insensitive as to treat immigrants that risk their lives to get here like they are vermin to be eradicated. |

The New England Hurricane of 1938 (or Great New England Hurricane, Yankee Clipper, Long Island Express, or simply the Great Hurricane of 1938) was the first major hurricane to strike ~~~ And I was seven and have a few old memories of this.Standing on the porch with mom hanging on to the post and rails, waiting for brother to come home from school.Look this one up on the internet. Devastation`jo`` |

I looked it up, and you were right, it was devastation. I'm more familiar with hurricanes than I really want to be down here in Louisiana. Back then with the Great Hurricane of 1938, there wasn't any alert systems like we have now with Internet tracking hurricanes path. I was one year away from being born when that monster struck. ~*~ When politicians give up on liberty, it falls to poets to preserve it. Or write its epitaph. ~*~ |
