The sounds of battle echoed ripped the blue out of the skies Across the field it did rain the rain of a thousand crying eyes Swords did burn Rivers did swell As Banks burst As Angels fell Beneath Fathers judging gaze The First as they did clash The Family blown asunder 'twixt hilt and bloody lash Hearts did ache Souls did cross The feathers fell With innocence lost So blood was spilt as lovers they stood in battle toe to toe They wept such as innocent tears even as they did spend the final blow Warriors they did stand Children they did fall They know not what they did God cannot help us all. Tears washed forth the field As a fathers burdens spread Children of hope washed down to fire Even as they escape to drown. Pain did come Paradise did split A Fathers betrayal An end to Joy I aint as good as I once was but I'm as good, once, as I ever was. - Toby Keith |

Love...sometimes it is a fierce power of destruction...innate I think....in some of us...that same self-destructive force we tend to indulge from time to time...why can't things ever be simple....huh? This is an exciting and wrathful spill, Walter Poe... Write-on~*~* |

Walter You must be a very old soul. Your writings like this echo the past. I believe you could write about the dawning of dirt and find the noble and the tragic, the love and loss and captivate us all. Well done. Lori |
